Treat Cup Idea

'Outta This World' treat cup card

I absolutely adore these fun & interactive treat cups; they can be incorporated into crafts in so many ways.
My son has one of his friend's birthday parties today, so had a think about what sort of card I could make for him. And this is what I came up with....
Inside the treat cup is sprinkles, two different sorts; just ones I already had from the local supermarket.
The stamp set used here is the Outta This World one, and the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is from Holiday Tags .

The instructions:
1. Cut white cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score at 4 1/4 and fold to form card base.
2. Stamp the spaceship on scrap white cardstock in Pacifica ink . Cut out the middle of spaceship with scissors as shown.
3. Cut Lagoon cardstock 5 1/4" x 6 1/2". Score all 4 sides at 1/4", then at 1/2" in from the 1/4" score lines.
4. Fold the inner score lines in towards themselves, and the outer score lines upwards.
5. With a circle cutting tool (not a punch, as you want to keep the cardstock intact) cut a circle in the Lagoon cardstock. To do this I used the circle Cutting Custom System from Creative Memories.
6. Fill the treat cups with sprinkles or whatever you want to put in them (don't fill completely)
7. Peel the paper off from the adhesive that's around the cup. Stick a scrap piece of cardstock on top of the cup, and press slightly to adhere to the adhesive. Trim around it.
8. Adhere the outer scored edges (except one) of the Lagoon cardstock to the card base using strong adhesive. I used Mini Glue Dots here, which worked perfectly.
9. adhere Glue Dots to the back of the treat cup, and position treat cup in place. Adhere the fourth score line of Lagoon to card base.
10. Adhere the spaceship as shown.
11. Stamp the rocket in Cranberry ink onto scrap white cardstock, trim around & adhere to card base.
12. Stamp the sentiment 'Greetings Earthlings' in Pacifica ink on white cardstock, the 'Happy Birthday' onto Pacifica cardstock in Cranberry ink,  trim & adhere.
13. Stamp the star from the 'Outta This World' stamp set in Pacifica ink on the inside of the card.

**Recommendations:- I suggest make the width of the 1/4" score lines 1/2" instead, that way it has greater surface area to stick to.

CTMH Holidays with Heart Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our first Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.
If you have arrived here from Noni's Blog, then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you this Waterfall card which features some of the amazing products from the Holidays with Heart Gift Guide live now through December 31st.

I absolutely love the adorable Waterfall cards, and while they look amazing they are also pretty easy to make.
1. You simply choose your stamps,  work out the size squares (I used 2 x 2") you will need to stamp the stamps on & then cardstock to back them (I used 2 1/2 x 2 1/2").
2. Stamp the images, here I chose the 2 Santas & 'Ho Ho Ho' sentiment from the Santa Claus stamp set.
3. Cut a strip of cardstock by the diameter (Mine was 2 1/2") of your cardstock squares by about 8" long (The cardstock I used was Juniper from the Sparkle & Shine Paper Packet).
4. Then by your diameter of your squares (Mine was 2 1/2") you're going to score a line, then score lines at every 3/4" (Mine were in total 2 1/2", 3 1/4", 4") thereafter for however many images (If you have 3 images you will scores 3x).
5. The first square you will adhere down completely, then the remaining squares adhere just the 3/4" space & stick down the squares just under each score line (not on the score line, JUST under it).
6. Once you know the width of your waterfall piece you can then decide on the diameter of your base card, and paper (I used the Polka Dot paper from the Sparkle & Shine Paper Packet (Mine was 6" wide, 5" L).
7. Cut a piece of cardstock strip the diameter of your card base (Mine was 6") by 3/4". Adhere the two ends of this strip to the card, you will need to use something strong to adhere it (I used Mini Glue Dots, and found this worked well).
8. Pop the longer side of the Waterfall cardstock piece under the thin card strip. The shorter end (which will have your stamped images on it) will not be under the card strip.
9. Now, take the bottom section of your shorter waterfall piece and adhere it to the thin strip. Make sure the paper is adhered to the card base.
10. Make a hole in the bottom of the waterfall piece so as to thread Paradise Bakers Twine through. Then embellish as you desire (I used the large Santa and sentiment from the Santa Claus stamp set).

All the products in the The Holidays with Heart Gift Guide are available now through December 31 from your CTMH consultant whilst stocks last.
Some items are in short supply so order early  to avoid disappointment.

Money Holder Card

A money holder card I made for my nephew's 15th birthday on Wednesday.
I just taped the money to the back of the pull out bit; which afterwards could also be used as a bookmark. The card could also be used as a gift card holder, and the gift card be stuck to the back of the bookmark or popped inside the opening.

The colour cardstock used was Lagoon , Gypsy (my two favs), and Sunset. The sentiment & feather are from the Sarita My Stickease Assortment.
The stamp sets used were the Geometric Backgrounds & the Heartfelt Birthday Wish. both inked in Lagoon .
Then tied off with the Hemp twine.
It can be so hard to find or think up a male card/gift card holder, but I really like this one, and I think the colours are great for a teenager.

As promised here is the Washi Tape rosette I created, a few days late, but none the less I did it.
Next time if I were to do things differently I would distress the edges first not last so it has an even coverage all around. I would also trim the paper prob about 2cm, and I would use Glue Dots for my adhesive (Glue Dots stick really well).
I have also since found a better tutorial on how to make these adorable rosettes (http://www.lorrieeverittstudio.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/paper-pops-tutorial-and-my-holiday.html).
Have a go at them, they are pretty cute!
